Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Second time under the blade, the chest ain't virgin ground,
Scar tissue laced the conduit tight, fused it down and bound.
That posterior table's a trap door, glued to everything it met,
The saw don't read the operative note, the saw ain't learned it yet.
Innominate vein sittin' thin as tissue paper,
Aorta kissing bone, a coronary taking the same caper,
RV pressed flat like it's ironed to the plate,
One wrong angle on that oscillator seals the fate.

[Chorus]
Five things fused, five things to find —
Conduit, ventricle, aorta, vein, coronary line.
P-L-A-N, that's the call before you crack the chest,
Peripheral lines, salvage flowing, rapid access, primed and blessed.
Scar don't care what artery it's holding,
Know the risk before the story's unfolding.

[Verse 2]
Check the scan before you touch the steel,
CT tells you what the sternum's gonna reveal.
Conduit kissing bone on the axial slice? That's a red flag flying,
Big fat right ventricle crowding the space means less room for trying.
Count the sternotomies — two, three, four —
Every redo adds more ghosts stuck to the door.
Pseudoaneurysm ballooning out, thin-walled and sly,
Four horsemen of re-entry, and you better ask why.

[Verse 3]
Now picture the moment metal meets a conduit wall,
A nick turns to a geyser, blood don't knock, it just falls.
In a body built in kilos, not in liters to spare,
A small child bleeds out in minutes while you're reaching for a clamp somewhere.
That's why the groin gets opened before the sternum's ever touched,
Femoral vessels waiting, cell salvage primed and hooked up.
Rapid infuser standing by like a loaded second gun,
'Cause the clock on exsanguination finishes before it's begun.

[Bridge]
Mortality climbs steep when the table turns to crimson,
Most of it was written, most of it could've been forbidden.
Read the chapter back on redo sternotomy and the scan,
Plan the opening like a surgeon, not a gambling man.
CT-driven, deliberate, cannulate before you cut,
Every structure mapped in advance — that's the only way to shut
The door on panic, shut the door on waste,
Precision over hurry, patience over haste.

[Outro]
Low percent but high the stakes when the blade goes in blind,
Study the picture, save the child, keep the plan in mind.
