Saudi-led coalition says projectile fell near airport in eastern Saudi Arabia

CNN reports that the Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthis said in a statement on Saturday that a projectile had fallen near King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.[2]According to TRT World, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki announced the incident near Dammam airport on X, but offered no further details on casualties or damage.[1] Operativ MM, however, reports that no casualties or damage were reported.[3]CNN says the Dammam airport "has become an important alternative to Riyadh airport following a spate of attacks on the capital."[2]CNN also reports that there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident[2]. Middle East Online likewise reports that responsibility for the latest projectile reported near Dammam airport has not been independently established.[4]TRT World, citing Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority, reports that the earlier strike on Riyadh's airport killed at least 12 people and left over 300 wounded[1]. CNN says people briefed on the matter warned that the number of dead and wounded was not a final toll.[2]According to CNN, the Houthis have said airliners should avoid Saudi airspace, declaring it a zone of military operations[2].
