Houthi media reported that Saudi Arabia struck an oil facility near Sanaa on Tuesday, after the Saudi-led coalition ordered civilians to evacuate the site[1]
According to France 24, an AFP correspondent in Sanaa reported hearing an explosion, while a breaking news alert on the Houthis' Al-Masirah TV said "Saudi aggression targets the oil company in Al-Sabaha, west of Sanaa".[1]France 24 reports that the evacuation order was the first the coalition has issued for Sanaa since their war flared up again in July.[1] Al Jazeera reports that coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki accused the Houthis of using the facility and its underground fuel depots for their arsenal of missiles and drones.[2]Dawn reports that the Saudi-led coalition had not yet confirmed the reported strike.[3]According to Al Jazeera, the oil company said its storage facilities were empty and that a Saudi strike would not affect oil reserves or supplies for residents.[2]An official at the Ministry of Energy told the Saudi SPA news agency that the Houthis have targeted an administrative building belonging to Saudi Arabia's Aramco in the eastern city of Dhahran[2], Al Jazeera reports. According to Al Jazeera, no injuries or fatalities were reported.[2]SPA also reported that four people were injured and 15 homes were damaged by the debris from two intercepted missiles[2] fired towards Riyadh, Al Jazeera says.According to Yahoo News Canada, Yemen's Houthi-run health ministry also said two people were killed in a separate event, when an oil company in the Red Sea province of Hodeidah was attacked[4], and the ministry blamed Saudi Arabia.France 24 reports that US President Donald Trump also spoke to Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday[1] and told reporters that the Houthis were "behaving very badly."
