[Verse 1] Ten years since the vote that split the island in two, Now Burnham's cracking doors marked "Breturn," it's true— A Mayor from Manchester says come on back in, CNBC's counting chips on what's at stake to win. Was auf dem Spiel steht? Nobody quite knows, But the hinge on that old door, mein Schatz, it still goes. [Chorus] Europa, Europa, was ist los heute hier? Diesel, Deals und Drama, serviert mit Klavier! (Oil and treaties, dancing cheek to cheek) Europa, Europa, hör zu, sprich, horch— Associate status, Mercosur, und Breturn durch die Tür! [Verse 2] Dalhousie's scholars lean in, chalk dust in the air, "A category that doesn't exist yet"—they declare. Should Canada get a seat that's halfway in the club? Not a member, not a stranger, just... associate, mein Lieb. Meanwhile down in Mercosur, the trade deal's on trial, Global Finance watching tariffs stacking mile by mile. [Verse 3] G7 ministers huddle, Trump applies the squeeze, Reuters says: release the diesel, release it if you please! A hundred million barrels, Al Jazeera counts them out, Bloomberg nods at Brussels—no fuel-line drought. The Energy Union Task Force checks the pipes and the price, Coordinating diesel so the winter isn't ice. [Chorus] Europa, Europa, was ist los heute hier? Diesel, Deals und Drama, serviert mit Klavier! (Oil and treaties, dancing cheek to cheek) Europa, Europa, hör zu, sprich, horch— Associate status, Mercosur, und Breturn durch die Tür! [Bridge] M: Ten years waiting, now the door's ajar, F: Reversal's rumor, is it near or far? M: Will Britain waltz back to Brussels' embrace? F: Ask Burnham, not me, I just reported the case! M: Will Ottawa join as a half-member friend? F: Dalhousie's still arguing how that could end! Both: Diesel's flowing, barrels rolling, hundred million strong, Das ist Nachricht, das ist Wahrheit, sing along! [Verse 4] Ten years of Brexit, ten years of this and that, Now Mercosur's on trial, and Canada's new map, G7's pumping diesel while Brussels keeps the score, Europe's the opera house, and we're all shouting "mehr!" [Chorus] Europa, Europa, was ist los heute hier? Diesel, Deals und Drama, serviert mit Klavier! (Oil and treaties, dancing cheek to cheek) Europa, Europa, hör zu, sprich, horch— Associate status, Mercosur, und Breturn durch die Tür! [Outro] So that's Europe, third of October, wrapped in a bow, Treaties, tanks, and ten-year hindsight—now you know. Bis morgen, Europa—the harpsichord rings true, News ist Musik, und Musik ist für dich!
